I’m not sure, but I believe fl helps them become one? The spoilers I’ve read were very few.
So from what I’ve read in some novel spoilers is that Luka and the duke are them same people. The duke is Luka’s past and the Luka we know is the actual duke. They do end up becoming one person later in the story.
