I wonder if this "first love lasts forever" thing is an Japaneese thing there are other cultures think like that too? Because I am from Turkey and we don't have that kind of mindset. I read so many manga with this trope. Like first loves are so important. They even start early as kindergarten. Like how, and why? They are only children and they fall in love for eternity? Is it romantic? I really don't understand. I'm not talking about this specific manga but I see it everywhere like it supposed to be so romantic. I don't see the big deal about first love. Especially if it started when they toddlers... I don't know it it's just me.

Yes you are right. So you are saying it's not specific to Japans? Koreans have that too?

Is my comment offensive in any way? I don't get this first love thing as so young. So is this why you gave me a sarcastic answer?

You ended your paragraph with “ I don't know if it's just me” and I answered you.

If your answer is just "Yes it is just you" then this does not answer my question. My main reason to comment was "I see so many manga with first love as kids. I don't understand this concept because I didn't grow up where people take " kids falling in love" seriously. " I am wondering why. I don't see the importance of it. And now you are saying it is a big deal in everywhere. I am much more confused.

I don’t really know either, I was born and raised in U.S. and it’s definitely somewhat common here depending on where you come from. Something about how first loves make your or break you or something, they change how you love forever after that and they basically give you a baseline for all of your relationships to come. Some believe that at least. Not me though.

Ah, this explanation really enlightened me. It's like when you get sick after eating something you will not put that thing in your mouth ever again as a kid. Your brain condition itself to protect you and this is the magic about first loves as a kid. Learning about liking or loving someone for the first time and not knowing what is happening so cannot protect yourself from it. This makes so much sense. Thank you. Yes it is really uncommon to love someone as a kid where I'm from. I think the reason is, we grow up around close family members so we see each other as siblings. Even if we like someone as a kid, most of us more comfortable with family than to strangers so we don't really get that close. This is why I thought it is a cultural thing.
Again, thank you for the explanation

Thank you for being kind and understanding. I did not intend my comment to be offensive but I know sometimes I may be not expressing myself very well as English is not my main language. So it can be a language barrier issue. I don't know but it's okay. And thank you for your kind words about my country. I'm glad you like it here and you have a good friendship with one of us. Because real friendships are too precious to have even if you are miles away from each other. You too have a good day

the "falling in love young" thing happens everywhere, but i think this trope of "my first love lasts for an eternity" just means an ex left an impact on their ex-partner. not necessarily that they still are in love with them, but instead they might reflect on their time spent together often because it was that person that they experienced their set of firsts with. which i guess is a big step in maturing. kids aren't actually romantic though haha, they might kiss or pretend propose because they replicate what they see growing up especially when they're young (ex. copying what their parents say and do). its more like play time to them. i dont think relationships get "serious" until like maybe middle or highschool. at least where im from.

I understand and agree what you're saying. I read Mangas that they fall in love as kids and they cannot forget about each other even if they are separated for a long time. I couldn't understand that concept. But with explanations I think I am much more understanding of first loves.
