Why are you taking your issues about this out on the translator?? Like what are they gonna do about it? They literally wrote they dont like it either but they arent the ones making the comic they cant just make the author stop it. And how are they gaslighting anyone into thinking its okay when they wrote that people should either skip those rare bonus chapters or drop the series all together if they arent comfortable with it. No one is forcing you to read this manhua all together and especially not those chapters, if you are already here reading a comic someone else translated in their free time the least you could do is show some respect and gratitude instead of barking up the wrong tree
reread the author’s note again, they are in no way justifying what the author is hinting at.
Though I do understand where you’re coming from. The author “writes bl” isn’t a valid reason (also stated by the translator) and shouldn’t have turned an innocent relationship into this weird onesided crush (?). Unless the author adds some psychological plot lines that can excuse this behaviour from potato (which would suckass), there is no other reason other than fetishisation.
And this is what happens when you have zero reading comprehension.
There was no justification of what is going on on the translator note.
You don't like it, leave it, because the fact that you are weirded out doesn't mean everyone is weirded out ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
I wouldn't mind seeing some action between them but that's MY cup of tea..I can differentiate between a comic and reality so no big deal (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ
you literally have no reading comprehension skill. i've been ignoring this mess but seeing you drag the translator who worked hard to translate the series and is completely innocent annoyed me.
the translator's note serves two purposes: 1) explain why there is this whole dynamic in some chapter 2) clarify that the weird dynamic is NOT canon, purely fanservice 3) admit that the dynamic is weird and wrong. there is a whole ass paragraph where she literally said she wasn't justifying the author's action nor supporting the trope.
That said, she is tired of people coming here complaining about the sussy non-canon stuff every day. Stay or leave. Staying doesn't mean you justify the weird incest stuff. Some people are able to compartmentalize and enjoy the innocent parts of the story, like myself. I skip all of the adult extras/aus since they are not canon.
Leaving doesn't mean you're oversensitive. But if you do choose to leave just leave. Don't try to be holier-than-thou and condemn the translator or the people who stay. If you choose to stay, read it and stop saying things like its just fiction why ppl complain.
Wow some heavy lugagge you have, sorry about your nephew but you have to LEARN the difference in situations.
Sorry but your idea of generalizing anything into grooming is plainly fucked up. In any case this would be Stockholm syndrome (⌒▽⌒) because potato would be falling in love with his captor cause technically speaking he is being held without consent when they ALREADY know who is the father.
So first finish school because you definitely have A LOT to learn and frankly, get therapy it does WONDERS (experience speaks for itself)
The translator's note is weird! I don't think anyone would complain if the story started with young ADULT potato hitting on OLDER middle aged mafia gang dude he ran into randomly. The author loves BL, their fan base loves BL, but that's no excuse for 'anything goes' in BL. It is disturbing that we have this toddler raised as an adopted son to then hint of some romance between them later on. Imagine if YOU the translator was to hook up with their stepadad who raised YOU since YOU were a toddler? Wouldn't that be weird and iffy? The weirdness doesn't just disappear just because YOU and your stepdad love BL. If it's weird in real life, it's weird in fiction too. Respectfully, don't gaslight people into thinking otherwise.if the author wants an age gap story, they can go ahead with my full support, but if it's between son and father then ewww!
