This maybe just shows that ur probably not the target market of this story then, cuz I see a lot of people has contradicting opinion to yours.

Maybe, but I’ve read a shit ton of stories (over 2k now) that vary in genre and plot. Some great, some bland, some stupid af but I try to give everything a fair shot.
This story was more appealing to me back in 2019 when I started, but the slow updates, pacing, lack of imaginative world building and slow character development or lack of character development has made the story boring to me. And that isn’t even counting the slow burn. Slow burns are fine but there’s just no burn. It’s listed as a fantasy romance. But I think it should just be fantasy, because the romance doesn’t seem to be important at all to the plot. But with how the pacing and updates have gone….it makes the plot hard to follow without going back and rereading everything.
But that’s just me I suppose. I’ll wait another 4 years for 30 chapters. Maybe then the story might be done and have some sort of rewarding payoff.
Totally with you on this. It's not even a bad critique for the manga because it's true. MC is so obtuse about romance she might as well be the picture in the dictionary. It would have helped if Alves was half as charming as he's supposed to be judging by all the women who pant after him but he's more asshole douche than charming, flirty wizard.
I get the love some people have for this story but you gotta admit the parts its failing at is a huge chunk of the narrative. Still, a lot of people are waiting for the pay out as the 'plot' unravels. I think the manga works as best as it could but, as the case often is, the novel does much better in exploring the characters.
The slow burn is just slow with no burn.
So you’d think the plot would carry the story and keep things interesting…. But even then I’m finding the plot slow and boring. Likely dropping for now and returning when the story is complete in the next 4 years.
