it's poetic to take down a coward bastard with an arrow from that bow.
makes me wonder though- they said extracted the tendon from the spine, and the sacrifices are eaten whole. to have an intact tendon (especially since the spine tendon is close to the bone), it implies that they also culled their slaves to extract materials for their bows.
ff: it's true that bow-strings can/has been made with animal tendons, usually deer or buffalo. other materials that humans have used: horsehair and sinew
