Did I miss something?

Why so much hate? their were hints throughout the story that showed how the ML to slowly despise the FL...

He never received motherly affection and the first time he experienced it he quickly realized it fell short (seeing the FL's mom protect the FL instinctive while his "mother" ordered others to protect him) he even acknowledges this as immature but it's what he honestly felt as a child who is lonely and traumatized.

You can see the people surrounding the ML throughout his life purposely praise the FL in hopes he will despise her over time and call off the engagement.

Also their are hints that both the FL and ML were slowly poisoned throughout their time together and part of the side effects were aggression and emotional instability. You also see this as he regrets isolating himself when the FL and the dukes that supported him were gone.

It's not like I don't have other criticisms but saying the endgame is so awful that it ruins the whole story is weird considering how the author let us slowly digest the multiple factors to their ruined relationship. The characters felt flawed and human.

no, you don't need to cry for him, my main point is that this story is being judged rather harshly. The author laid out the MLs circumstances that led to him turning out completely ruthless in their 1st life. These circumstances don't mean the readers must forgive his actions in his 1st life nor believe them to be completely justified. But the lack of sympathy, plus the amount of hate for the prince in his 2nd life, especially when considering he grew up differently (thanks to the FL changing things) makes me feel like this comment section is filled with people who believe people are inherently evil vs a product of their environment. I understand this much hate if the ML was the prince in the 1st life, but the prince in the 2nd life is a different person and shouldn't be held for the crimes that he only could've committed. On that note, the FL is a product of both her 1st and 2nd life, if her trauma led her to not love the prince then she has my full support. But she chose to acknowledge that he was a different person and overcome her trauma.

Since you mentioned the FLs backstory, I'd also like to point out that she was too young to even crave motherly affection, and she even mentioned that she decided to fix her relationship with her father in her 2nd life because she saw a glimpse of her father caring for her right before he left and died, the ML did not go experience that with his fathers death in his 1st life but in his 2nd life thanks to the FL.

Oh my god, someone talking sense!!! I can't believe it. People just jump to the story, read the first chapters, get mad and just jump to the end to get even madder just bc they can't get themselves to read the whole thing, and then rant about it knowing next to nothing. It makes my blood boil honestly.

Yeah, but what does ml circumstances have to do anything with fl. Bc i think both thir circumstances are bad in the 1st life but i see that fl suffer more than ml bc of her 1st life and 2nd was okay. Sound like he just vent his anger on her and kill her bc of that bitch and the circumstances you are talking about. Also, I did read the beginning to halfway, but I think it is kind of unfair that fl have to remember her past life and not the ml. If she gonna end up with him, he should also remember the past too. Just saying. Ngl, the thought of FL miscarriage hit the hardest

I think it's not about hating ML in second life . It's more about FL ending up with ML than anyone else or rather staying single for her life . (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
Realistically speaking , no one would end with the man who - raped you , killed your child , made you a mistress / slave , humiliated you by making her lick his shoes , killing her father and killing her later .
It's something called *trauma* that any human would get after experiencing these incidents .
People are criticizing how author made FL so low esteemed and lack of common sense .

I don't care about ML's stupid sob backstory that makes no sense . If a ruler of a country works on their emotions than they shouldn't be ruler at all ! About that random poision drop and uwu poor child ML scene doesn't make people ( FL ) forget their past.

FL can forgive but never forget !

Also, that poor girl , who was taken away from her world, that landed in this place was made a villainess. In her first timeline , she needed a powerful man to relay over and she found one . But her fate was miserable after that .
In second timeline , she used her *common sense* and went out of their way .
She even had enough brains to call out FL and remind her of the past incidents.
It's our overly dumb FL who still ended with that person .

There is another story - Angelic Lady , that you can read and know how author handled it perfectly and highlighted the *traumatic incidents*
