He set himself up for failure. If he had won her heart genuinely rather than through underhanded methods, maybe she could understand he was doing what must be done to save her life but he at this point has done nothing to earn her trust and had in fact done everything in his power for the opposite affect. Broken her trust time and time again, disrespect and belittled her, manipulated her and the thing she valued the most - her family. The child was the last thread of the FL’s commitment to their marriage - the only reason she had left for everything she had endured at his hands - and he killed it. FL has made it clear what she valued most is family and that fetus was the pinnacle of that - her own flesh and blood. He took that from her and was stupid for expecting any other outcome but divorce.
(I agree with you btw - the mother’s life 100% should be first priority. He did the right thing in this case, but this situation isnt isolated from him repeatedly disregarding her autonomy and dignity - yaknow like the title. This is a natural consequence of his actions.)
yeah. i was thinking this, too. his way of thinking is also what's negatively affecting his relationship with Chloe. the whole "she'll just have to love me for who i am" thing is not going to go in his favor since he's a natural pos haha it actually baffled me he thought of it that way. yes, Chloe loves him, but it doesn't give him the right to just do whatever he wants. he has to change and (spoilers)

I support Chloe through and through with the filing for the divorce. However, I will not condemn Damien for wanting to choose Chloe over the unborn baby. Chloe likely would've lost her life before even giving birth to the baby, considering how deadly the disease is. Damien is still a pos but yeah, him giving Chloe the medicine is something I wholeheartedly support.
