Respect the Author

Hey, I know you are all frustrated and angry about all this—rape, assault, graphics, etc. But just you know, that is the mood the author set for this work. If you do not like their work, drop it off. Just so you know different authors has their personalities. Just like for example, O. Henry is known for his twist endings and tragic stories.

Be mindful and respect the author.

Say all you want on your replies under but I do not care.

Respectfully, I am aware of that. I will still comment my thoughts, no one needs to feel offended by those types of opinions. Anyone who feels uncomfortable is valid, if they choose to continue reading, that’s alright too. People can read and feel uncomfortable and voice their thoughts, they shouldn’t have to worry about people attacking them for their comments.

Respecting the author is one thing but respecting an author that graphically displays rape is not deserving, respect isn’t easily given. This rape trope is quite common in the BL world unfortunately so it’s not unique to this author. I respect their art and the time they took in, but I do not admire them. I will continue to read because I’ve read their other sorry, Down and Dirty, this one piqued my interest.

It’s obvious it’s a repeated writing but I don’t mind it to the point I will stop reading. Certain author “personalities” (fetishizing, cp, unnecessarily drawing rape scenes without showing the effect it has on the character and just brushed aside, etc..) shouldn’t be normalized if they heavily display graphic scenes, sure it’s fiction, but I don’t see the reason to display all the rape details.

If they wish to continue with this assault trope, I do wish they’d change it up a bit and not always the uke being assaulted in certain ways, I’d like to see semes being assaulted as well. Not that I enjoy seeing that but to change it up. Rather than the rape scenes being graphically depicted, I am more mad that the expressions just don’t match sometimes with how they feel about being forced. I’ve seen some readers comment about how the MC here likes being forced, that is not true, I wish authors would properly depict the effects of rape has on victims (as I am a victim myself, reading it is a bit triggering but I enjoy the other aspects).

Sorry last reply here (insert sweat emoji because my
Emojis don’t show up for some reason).

The author definitely shows some realistic expressions such as fear, the physical effect of rape on MC (his dick being down while being raped ch. 24-25, shows he doesn’t enjoy it, his expressions sometimes match and sometimes isn’t consistent but not bad).

Ok but you do see how it’s weird that you have to seek these stories out in order to complain about these themes? Especially with modern ones. It’s especially weird that yall be reading dark, graphic, and psychological fictions but demand that the censor the dark and graphic parts because it weirds you guys out. I don’t like gore but I don’t find super gory manhuas and make comments on my high horse and to talk about how the author doesn’t deserve respect for showing too much murder/bodies/graphic content and say that they’re fetishizing murder.

. Like yeah, this book is pretty messed up but I feel like there’s an expectation to understand that it’s a fiction with a story to tell with graphic scenes to display, and that the certain scenes aren’t going to be censored to cater to a small group of people who enjoy hate reading these themes. If people dont like these types of stories and themes, and can’t read them as a work of fiction but still force themselves to read it, yall can at least stop making sanctimonious comments everywhere— like for real, people work so hard on these things and it’s just so easy to say the authors, artists, and translators are all these things that you typed out bc they didn’t read your mind, ask your permission, and cater only to your tastes.

I’m not complaining about the dark theme, it’s more of how unnecessary it is for the author to show all the rape details. It doesn’t add anything to the plot. I don’t demand they censor everything out, more like it’s not necessary to put all the graphic details out continuously, it gets repetitive. And I don’t see the issue with wanting that to be reduced a bit. And this is coming from someone who reads gore stories.

I don’t find stories to just comment, people are free to comment whatever they want and shouldn’t be criticized for how they feel. They can read and criticize, it shouldn’t be anyone’s problem. This author definitely fetishizes and depicts the psychological effects on victims of assault not as realistically, it gets brushed aside easily. That’s more of my issue than the censoring.

I only mentioned the unnecessary amount of graphic details of rape, and it’s so normalized. It shouldn’t be regardless if it’s fiction or not. Fiction can literally inspire future criminals, and it has in the past, so it being a fiction isn’t a good reason. People say “it’s fiction so whatever”, it’s getting old and just not a good enough reason. But I understand that some people can separate reality, some can’t. While I can, I will continue to criticize the author for the amount of repetiveness. I don’t mind the rape portrayal, honestly, I just wish they didn’t continue showing it in almost every chapter.

It’s not hard for the author to depict rape without continuously showing it in almost every chapter. In fact it’ll reduce their work load for processing all these repetitive assault portrayal. I do like that the author doesn’t show that the MC enjoys it, in fact he seems to despise it and he has a limp dick for proof he doesn’t enjoy it.

Our comments, or at least mine, are completely valid and people are free to criticize as long as they aren’t sending author death threats over this fiction story, it’s ridiculous to send that amount of hate to be honest. I am fine if it’s just pointing out how repetitive the rape portrayals can get, and it’s true that many authors fetishize rape and rape kinks actually exist! I say that because I have a rape kink, not because I wanted to have that kink but because it stems from my trauma of being a victim of rape for years.

Some people also struggle from intrusive thoughts and can’t help but check for every story updating or they can’t rest, that’s the case for me. But another reason I continue reading is because I kinda find peace within this chaos of a story. I know there will be actual peace in the future of this story because the good ML is here.

Another reason I enjoy reading this is because of the dark themes, I just don’t get the unnecessary amount of rape scenes, it gets boring chapter after chapter is my point. I’m not exactly shocked by it, I’ve seen it too much. But the repetition criticism is a constructive criticism, not meant any hate towards the author.

And also thank you for explaining how you feel about some comments towards the author. I understand if you mean the comments that are hating on the author blatantly. Personally I don’t mind comments criticizing scenes as long as they don’t hate the author too much to the point of sending threats.

This story is definitely messed up and I do like that the author SHOWS the rape scenes time to time but I notice the author seems to repeat it a lot and it’s kinda annoying me, but other than that, I don’t mind the story.

As long as the MC isn’t being depicted as suddenly enjoying being raped (cause that shit isn’t realistic unless they give their consent and are comfortable with it), I don’t mind this story.
