I’m halfway happy for them that they get their happy ending, but halfway dissatisfied with what happened. I’m still surprised by how much hate there is for Heesuh. He is hilarious and very sarcastic. He’s not actually a malicious person. And he has always cared a great deal about Jinmoo and it literally took him ten years to figure out what to do with his feelings.
They do discuss some things when they get back together but what’s hanging over their relationship, from my perspective, is that they never talk about the night that Jinmoo brutally raped Heesuh in the car. It’s NOT okay as a form of payback. It’s NOT okay that Heesuh felt so guilty that he didn’t even bring it up. It is NOT okay that BL comics treat partner rape like it’s not a big deal. If Jinmoo is the type of character who apologizes for acting a little grumpy, why does he never apologize for violently assaulting a weeping Heesuh? That just doesn’t make sense. Heesuh is perceived to be the dominant one in the relationship, but in reality he had no power to stop Jinmoo from hurting him in this way.
I’d be a lot happier with this comic as a “first love finally getting together” story if either that had never happened or they actually talked about it. They both need so much therapy I had to take a long break before finally reading these last chapters ☹☹☹
