No , it wasn’t because of that. This is a bit no no to say like it’s her fault he didn’t care about her. They didn’t even know each other before marriage, it was an arranged marriage but he somewhat liked her . They met on their wedding day and he had to leave on their first night before even consummating their marriage ( seggs) because the king ordered him to go to war. She suffered from her mother in law, he thought his step mother wouldn’t hurt her and didn’t know later. When he came back he was traumatised and even when she tried to talk to him about what was happening he wasn’t focused on it because he was trying to make his duchy and people survive against the evil king. I believe she realised what was truly happening and understood the whole picture that’s why she wanted to change their first night experience and change the whole future.
