Seeing how much of an asshole the rich guy is, he probably never gave her much attention except at their dinner table, but now he's bringing a male version of her to the hospital himself and taking him shopping, things he should have done for his wife but never did. Also, what other warning could be a bigger warning to the MC that Oga Helbert himself? The maniac is a walking red flag with an angry bull charging towards it. If MC didn't realise that, I don't think Maria's shallow words would be much help.
