I see and thus creating the ultimate excuse as to how to get the duke stay by her side 24/7 which in other people's eyes looks like duke is infatuated with her = pregnancy claim seems possible. (However this plan relays on the fact that duke doesn't deny the claim, I guess she believed that he too would benefit enough from having a "pregnant" partner -> emperor wouldn't pressure duke about getting an heir)
