I think you misread it. Killing the minor rafflesias don't kill D. Killing the minor rafflesias keep D in bloom. F wanted D to be always blooming so he could take customers. Now that D is no longer a prostitute, his baby rafflesias get to live.

I love this book and truly enjoyed reading and seeing the ending unfold. Just wondering why fjord minced up datenshou children. At first I thought it would killed him if his children were born because of the "killed them as they were born" comment, but then it ended with his children being born and he still being alive. I even try to think as a person who only see profits and this still doesn't make sense to me because his kids could bring in profits too. I probably just missed something, but I really want to know why Fjord killed his kids. The best reason I have is control or trying to make him not believe people so easily, but both doesn't sound very feasible. Pls help
