I'm wondering if the bruises where from the mom?
Either knowingly or unknowingly.
Like if the mom fell into madness and would hurt her every time she visited.
Or maybe something is hurting her in the dream state and that reflected to her physical body. Since who knows if her original self knew about the dream hoping before MC hopped in her body?
