No Laws parents really died. Jesse’s mom engineered this to get her hands on Law, thinking he is very smart and motivated but also very easy to control and manipulate because he’s such a people pleaser. Jesse’s family are rich and have a tech company. Jesse tries to send Law away to protect him, but instead Law works for Jesse’s mother and creates the VR tech.
