uhhh why did they write my dad into a bl i'm surprised (and a little disappointed i'm ngl but that's personal) that a manhwa depicting the characters' trauma and mental health so well failed to give woowon anxious attachment in his relarionship with seoan as a result of this very specific type of relationship with his parent/s....

I was thinking a similar thing except wondering why he hasn't been even more avoidant with seo-an than he already has

avoidant attachment comes up when your parents are straight up negligent. not much negative attention but nothing positive either because your parents are too focused taking care of other things to focus on you. that way you grow up thinking you're the only person that's safe to rely on, since the people meant to take care of you always dismissed your needs. this is not woowon's case. the reluctance woowon feels when seoan tries to help him economically and stuff like that has nothing to do with his attachment style but rather in my opinion with what's a pretty noble set of values making him wanna stand beside him as his equal. woowon's dad is described to run hot and cold. sometimes very sweet and attentive and loving, and then suddenly he'll become violent, then apologize and go back to his sweet self, then repeat. this should make a child grow up being hyper vigilant of the slightest changes in other people's mood and behavior as a means to survive, meaning, they become anxious and always suspect the other person of switching up on them unreasonably quickly, because that's all they know. there are other behaviors that should develop from a trauma like this, but this comment is already getting too long lmao. anyways, i feel like this is the right development they should've given him, on top of this very, very real sense of guilt and self-hatred.
