In the raws he does use some random Japanese (like he says "tasukete" at one point, though that might be the next chapter), but I think they tweaked where/how he used the Japanese in a way that would make more sense to an English-speaking audience. If that makes sense

props to the translation team, i had to check if the otaku really said stuff like kawaii, kokoro and baka in the raws and he didn't but that addition was funny lmao
