I genuinely loved how the author wrote burner and great both. Great made me go through so many emotions, and I still think I hate him more than I love him.
His sadness, anger, desire for revenge everything is justified if we see his past. His past was one of the toughest out there, he lost his father, his friends, his parental figure and needed to shoulder a heavy burden, which included with Gerbain's taunts made him fall into depravity. However precisely because of these reasons, I dislike great. I know it's very hard to not be out for revenge IRL as well, however let's take burner She too has faced an equal amount of obstacles throughout her life. She lost her parents, just when she thought she found them, they were killed in front of her. Her found family had their lives endangered, her blood siblings were killed and most of all, unlike great she wasn't a chosen one She got there solely through her power and her will alone. She knew the world was unyielding and harsh however she knew when to separate true criminals and innocent people.
Great has taken far too many lives unnecessarily. Hus ideals were sick and twisted and his beliefs were messed up (partly because of gerbain). His past doesn't excuse the mass murder he committed. In my opinion I would rather he ended up dead than being let to stay alive and atone. His end would've been much suited since a redemption arc just prior to demise would've been extremely appropriate.
