He was there because an imperial order was issued to bring back FL. Soldiers were looking for her to arrest her. Only, he disobeyed the order, at the risk of himself and family, and helped her instead.
FL doesn’t need to ask about it because she soon realized he loved her in all timelines including one that she doesn’t remember right now. She did ask him in the side story though but pretty much knew the answer already but ML confirmed he helped her because he loved her.
So why was ml there to help fl and her past partner( The man she ran away with and had a child with) at that port( I think it was a port but I got)? Did fl ever find out why he was there and why he helped them?
