I'm pretty sure mama is supposed to be used for the queen as it means queen if I'm not wrong, so I don't really know why they're using that word for the concubines instead, I only know this cuz I watch historical Kdrama, I actually don't know if what I'm saying is true or not

yes i think mama means your majesty/highness and they just directly translated it as that here (the bad translations)
Why do they use the he/him to the emperor?? And why does she call the concubines "mama" or the servants calling her "mama"?? (Just genuinely curious)
