You should just give up. Not like he's going to get character devepment. If ppl hate that he cheats, they shouldn't even be reading this story bc the synopsis clearly show it's there. If they read bc they think he'll get some redemption, he doesn't. If they think he'll get some huge regret scene for cheating, he doesn't. If you ppl are just reading for Ines, she can only heal bc of Carcel anyways so yeah, keep hating the person who will heal the girl you ppl simp for
Funny you call the actual fans haters when it's the people hating Luciano/Carcel/her family that are the real haters. They're ppl that Ines loves so who are the real haters. You're all just only reading for Ines only, not the story. If you hate other characters in her life that she loves, I can't see how you ppl aren't the actual haters.
Because who are you to get on every comment and hate?! Literally a nobody. We're all here to express how we feel about the manhwa and the characters. You don't have the right to tell someone what should do with their reading. You act like an obsessed person and write under literally every comment that's not to your liking and start a heated discussion even though it's not even about the manhwa, it's about the novel. Like dude..... please. I have no words anymore, i'm appalled.
Um because it's my opinion? I'm putting on my thoughts cause that is the comment section for? It's not like I'm just blindly hating, it's an opinion. I said I was gonna try to read this story because I know the ml isn't doing the cheating anymore and I wanna try not to give up on this story yet because MAYBE there is hope for myself that i would actually like him
What I don’t understand is why anybody thinks he should’ve been a devout fiancé since the age of 6. Like that whole thing is weird to me. By now, All readers know that Ines was a grown woman in the body of a child. All readers know that she chose Carcel to escape marrying Oscar. All readers know that Carcel was super scared when she chose him and cried as a 6 year old because he didn’t want to marry her. All readers know that he eventually began to follow her around during childhood. All readers know that she ghosted him when he was a teenager and he believed she no longer loved him. All readers know that that’s when he decided to live his own life as any hormonal teen should until he was ready for marriage. And yet I keep finding people who think that somehow, Carcel should’ve just lived his life according to Ines’ will, by sitting in a corner until she was ready to marry him (and divorce him of course). And the justification for that is, the FL
chose him so he should stay loyal even when she’s ignoring him after having decided to marry him all on her own?
The only time Carcel made the conscious decision of being committed to Ines is when he married her. If he sees other people now, then it’s cheating. But him living his own life when he was in an engagement he didn’t choose for himself? Good for him. That’s my opinion on the matter.
I don't think that anyone thinks that he should've been faithful at 6 years old. Also it's creepy if someone needs to state that. I think the reason why most people are mentioning the cheating part is because of those teenage years where they actually should've been faithful to each other. Ines chose him for a reason and she knew that he would be a well coveted man since that happened in their previous lives too. That was her point after all. He was literally the most good looking boy. She hoped that he would continue cheating on her so she would have a reason to divorce him and live as a free single woman. Also, Carcel since he was a kid (from what i can remember from reading the manhwa) was always kinda scared to talk to Ines since she had literally resting bitch face and was kinda unapproachable but also wanted to kinda get close to her since they were betrothed. So i guess there was a lot of miscommunication there, but later on when the hormones and temptation hit that's where Ines's plan started and let's be real if Carcel himself said that he had a bad reputation then we know it's real real lol.
That’s my whole point. Ines chose him. Ines married him because she wanted to and she also plans to divorce him as she sees fit. And I said since he was 6 years old to illustrate that she was the one basically in control of the fact that they’d have a future together. So I still don’t understand why people think it’s only natural for him to stay put until she was good and ready. They think he should’ve been faithful and committed to a relationship he didn’t choose. Now that he’s chosen it, that’s when those actions should matter much more than they seem to still matter to some readers.
now that you said it you made some point. Yes, we shouldn't have expected carcel to be devoted at the age of 6, probably my only issue is that he claims that he loved her yet continues to fool around anyways since he felt like ines is not interested on him anymore (let's forget abt ines pov on this one and just focus on carcel's pov) instead of communicating with her he let his teenage hormones to act up. And yes, this issue is on me because I cannot stand cheaters especially with a personal experience. Even though he change and was now devoted I'm not the forgiving type when it comes to cheating. In short this story isn't for me and will drop this to stop the further arguments.
So basically you're saying that if in some marriages the feelings are one sided, the other side can do whatever they want? If they want to cheat they can cheat, if they want to take a mistress they can? That's a bad logic. You're also basically saying that since he didn't choose the relationship his behaviour thus far was okay.
Don't quit.
The people here that can't see the possibility that maybe you'll grow to understand and like the character later on is their problem and the inability of having an open mind. They forget that we can have different emotions and feelings about characters throughout the manhwa and that they can change.
Do what you want and write what you want.
See, the problem is you guys are looking at this through general lenses of “when you’re in a couple, even if you didn’t choose to be a couple, if you see someone else, it’s cheating.” I’m looking at the context of the story and I believe that cheating is appalling only if the people in the relationship are committed to each other.
Ines, although her life ended tragically, made her own life choices. She was married to Oscar because she loved him. It just so happened that he turned out to be a piece of shxt. She ran away with Emiliano to use him as an escape and got him killed on the process. She lived her life by the sum of her own choices. As far as he knows or remembers, this is Carcel’s first life. He had no say in who he would spend the rest of his life with and he actually accepted it.
He feels bad now because like you guys, he feels he betrayed their relationship even though Ines rejected him when they were teenagers. Meanwhile I, like Ines, don’t feel bad because he didn’t live his life based on her own whims, pining after her until she was good and ready to
Proceed with their marriage. Plus the fact that Carcel is exactly the man Ines wanted is also one of the reasons why none of his behavior is wrong to me. That’s why as far as she’s concerned, he deserves better. Some readers agree as well, but I love them both and I just think they deserve each other.
And BONUS SPOILERS:
the queen was a big supporter of their union because she didn’t want Ines to be with her son since she might outshine her. However since Carcel is her nephew, she basically had the best of both worlds and was cool with that. I say this because people have said he could’ve ended the engagement when in fact he couldn’t have. Nor did he actually want to. Nor did Ines. And I don’t know why it wasn’t in the webtoon, but according to novel readers, Carcel wasn’t initially a womanizer. Ines basically kept building that idea in his head when they were kids so he’d do it once grown. Who knows, they might cover that later.
Regardless of the spoilers though, I stand by my opinion on the matter.
Ines' plan didn't start when they were teens. It started since she chose him. She was talking to a lawyer at 10 years old. She was already plotting it way earlier than you think. She didn't choose him bc he was a coveted man. She chose him bc she thought he was a playboy from the lifetime when she was crown princess. She didn't know he wasn't a rl playboy so it was her words and actions in this life that made him do those things bc it was never in his nature to sleep around for no reason or just bc he's horny. He was only scared of her in the beginning but he did end up liking her. That was also shown in the manhwa when they were talking with Oscar and when he was alone with her, he started blushing and liking her and kept doing things that she kept ordering him to do and he didn't know why. Carcel been liking her way long before puberty and Ines' plan didn't start at puberty. She been plotting it since she chose him for the purpose to make him cheat and divorce him. That's why she even said to him that she don't care if he doesn't love her and only she need to love him. Carcel only started to think his actions are bad bc he think he might've hurt Ines when he didn't think of that before and I can't blame him when she kept turning him down even when she said she loved him. She was playing with his feelings with her actions and words. His reputation wasn't that bad when the whole country is promiscuous anyways. He just does have a promiscious reputation that YOU think is bad and that some other people think it's true, but if you even really read the manhwa, it shows he's not even that promiscuous. He only slept around in Mendoza and never at Calztela where he spends most of the yr. The only time he went to Mendoza was bc he had to attend those parties the empress tell him to attend with Ines, and no one questin why he don't sleep around in Calztela but only in Mendoza. Pretty sus that Ines is only at Mendoza too.
Their whole cheating stance is so fking stupid bc then are they going to tell me that Ines should've been loyal to Oscar then? She was engaged to him too but people be saying that she was forced into it. That's so funny bc Carcel is the one rly forced into the engagement and Ines' engagement with Oscar before was something she wanted and liked and not forced.
Those readers are just self-inserting. If they're reading through Ines' lense then they can see he's not bad bc why would she be mad at him for sleeping around when she knew about it and wanted it. It's the readers who self-insert and don't want it so they're mad. She practically plotted to make him lose interest in her while also lovebombing him. She been talking to a lawyer at 10 about divorce. If you look at Ines' lense, you can see Carcel didn't do no wrong and that's why she can tell Carcel it's not his fault but readers can't see it bc they don't understand Ines or read from her own feelings. They're just self-inserting.
Well also generally speaking your opinion on how to handle this matter is wrong. I don't want to seem like I'm attacking you but if you say this to someone else know that you'll be seen like the crazy person. She didn't manipulate him because she didn't actually do or said anything to him. They just didn't have any contact. So if that's the reason why someone should start cheating okay, you do you. Also with your opinion in the beginning if you don't think it's appalling, no words just wow and again, you do you. And the situation about Ines and Oscar if you thought a little bit more you'd see that no sane woman will stay with her raping, cheating, beating husband. So her escaping and then later on finding love, is okay and actually brave because a lot of woman wouldn't have actually thought that they could be close to another man. And that's a fact. Carcel literally admits that he did bad things, idk what else to tell you.
You just can't let people feel what they feel reading this manhwa. Go talk to the author for how you don't like the manhwa adaptation because it's not the readers fault. It's here, it's out and those are the facts. My opinion also won't change about this.
Own opinion, there's something that just don't sit right with me. Unlike on any other manhwa where I would feel butterflies when the ml is showing his devotion to the mc. But on this one I wasn't feeling anything maybe bc it just irks me remembering how he cheats before or probably it's just because it's not my cup of tea. Either way I'll still continue to read it and won't give up on the story just yet
