While Edith does know the truth, Killian doesn't know so his anger is also reasonable because it was Mr. Samuel's job to make sure the yacht was fine.
However, Edith knows what really happened and being how she is, she can't turn a blind eye to the innocent man who will face her husband's wrath. If it was a different scenario where the FL didn't know the full picture, then the anger from the ML would be 100% reasonable.
Why is it surprising Killian is interrogating the man that assured him there was nothing wrong with the boat?
