Allena is dumb. She falls for everyone's tricks, can't keep a secret (story would be better if she kept who her mother is a secret for longer or to just one person) and she doesn't flippin stick to one love interest. Both have BLATANTLY confessed and she answered neither.
Lucas and Tristan are both annoying as well. Lucas simply can't think for himself. He new who Allena is as a person yet still quickly switched his perception of her after she told him the truth. And it took Edelaine telling him that for him to realise he's wrong. Although I pray (and believe) Tristan is the ML, I don't like him that much - he's definitely the better option though.
Edelaine is a nice character as she's grown, but the advice she gave Tristan was truly bull shittery. Saying as an experienced unrequited lover or whatever, she's clearly biased when believing that Tristan isn't in the same position as her.
Allena not giving answers to both these princes who confessed is really pissing me off and creating misunderstandings that aren't interesting. The revenge just feels like a side plot at this point.
I'd dread living if I'd have to attend this school, that lacks a reliable headmaster oblivious to the corruption going on within her own school.
