I wouldn’t trust a daycare that released a child without first calling the guardian to find out if the person has authority to take the child…
Yep, very much so. Even summer camps have the same rule, and they're much less organized than schools/daycares. Even if it was an officer, they shouldn't have released her.

Yeah, the exception should not have happened due to him being an officer. Pedo thing aside because that really doesn't matter here, CPS and law enforcement are only allowed to take custody of a child if they have the proper authorization (warrants, etc). The daycare screwed up.

no yeah i agree, unfortunately in real life ppl are very scared of cops because they can be very vindictive if they dont get their way and can make your life hell

though also, idk where the authors are from but in places like japan and maybe korea, cops are extremely trusted so it makes more sense thinking about it like that
