Are we reading the same story? Jaekyung isn't a sex offender
"I have a Jinx. I need to have sex the night before a match to win. Will you do it with me? If you're not going to do it, get out" (Jaekyung, chapters 2 and 3)
A sex offender wouldn't have given Dan the option to leave. Why are you babying Dan? He's an adult responsible for his decisions. He decided to have sex with Jaekyung to extract money from him. In exchange, Jaekyung had sex with him whenever and wherever. Dan accepted Jaekyung's terms and conditions
You didn't think Jaekyung would help Dan for free, did you? That would be stupid
You're twisting the story
Jaekyung: Let's have sex? Yes or no?
Dan: Yes
Jaekyung: I won't stop, even if you cry or say "stop." Is it still a "yes?"
Dan: Yes
Jaekyung: *puts it in*
Dan: No! Stop!
This is not sexual assault. This is a violation of agreed-upon terms and conditions. And Dan is the one violating them
It's not Jaekyung's fault that Dan, an almost 30-year-old adult, can't make up his damn mind
I feel bad for the author/artist. She's doing her best for us, and her "fans" are pelting her or her work with rotten fruit and vegetables. She deserves better. Her gorgeous, dreamy art style transports me, the reader, to the wild world of the story. She captures the grace of her male characters, making morally grey scenes still appear intensely beautiful. Her characters are complex and flawed. Dan is indecisive, stuck and overly anxious. Jaekyung is aggressive, pushing himself past his limits and reaching an emotional breaking point. He snaps easily and gets frustrated over the smallest things. Or withdraws completely, and nothing has an effect on him. Both instances showcase trauma
Dan and Jaekyung are two traumatized men that I hope will find love and comfort in each other's arms
