Sadly it looks like the cycle is going to repeat itself, at leat where the crown prince is involved.
Hopefully Norra has the stuff to fight his extended family for Shuli and his parents, at least quietly, help them out.
So we've all been reading this for years now right? And somewhere along those years the translations were hard to understand but in these new few chapters that it has become better.. i was reminded again how fucked up people are in this story.. so let me just rant for a while..

The emperor, empress, Johannes, Shuley and Johannes OG wife - the red head.. or I suppose so, from my understanding so far..

She probably loved that asshole.
>Now back to Johannes, on the otherhand.. married his OG wife, who was in the SAME friend circle, *from what I understood.. correct me if i'm wrong* and they had a fairly good life, as he was atleast doing his husband role properly. However! How the fuckever! ... when his OG wife died and he's about to die.. he somehow found a girl that looked so much like the now dead Shuley.. and freaking married the chiiiiild（/TДT)/ If that wasnt freaky.. i dont know anymore.. It was like " coz i didnt get to marry Shuley, imma marry her lookalike no matter the age and taking care of my kids is a bonus".
>Bottomline is, they were all close friends who married one another but at the same time they had this unspoken but blatant betrayal because they were all painfully aware about each others feelings, men and women both! Now why should we expect the kids to be unaffected by their parents messed up affairs?
>The crown prince fell inlove with Shuli that looked sooooo much like his mom.. which was possibly partly due to him just missing his mom, but even so, everything about him is so messed up.. and i'm sad for him.. for being vulnerable to the manipulations of that anemic priest and for trying to take Nora's parents for himself because he didnt have parental love.. i'm sad he grew up twisted because of the adults around him.. especially that emperor, FU old fart! How could you neglect your son after your beloved Shuley died? He was still her son nonetheless! I can see he wasnt an affectionate father to the 2nd price aswell.. but even still! At least the second prince still had his mom, the crown prince had no one left! (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
>We also have Jeremy who had to hide his feelings because the woman he loved was his stepmother of the same age┗( T﹏T )┛whyyy of all people did his father decide to take a second wife of his eldest son's age and leave him to her care after dying.. Shuli is a hard worker and a resposible child on top of being kind and beautiful, so of course! Of course Jeremy would fall for her sooner or later. FU Johannes! I'm pretty sure ur OG wife knew you only had respect for her because your actual love was Shuley but she still loved you nonetheless.. i hate that i realized this possibility.
Shuli also got roped up in this whole affair just because she looked like Shuley yknow. Johannes prolly wouldnt give her a second glance had she not have the same features as Shuley. Shuli even had to suffer on her first life and die an unfair death.. and Nora was heart broken when that happened. These kids.. i can imagine them living a completely different life, had those adults been a little bit responsible for their actions. Frick.
