The last chapter suggests to me that she actually never loved the ml - she really loved her husband. I think I would take the story on face value
I do think she loved her husband but doesn’t necessarily need the actual commitment to do so. She obviously cheated on her husband with him it’s actually dead ass clear, she still thinks about the wound she inflicted on the main character so maybe the husband is actually just dead because he wanted to kill her who knows
She cheated on her husband??? When??? Was the whole romantic relationship with ml during her marriage or pre-marriage?
My take. It's his kid. She had to lie and hit him so he'd survive as she got pregnant by a commoner or something. She got married to protect her kid and the husband is actually somewhere living his best life. Or I'm completely wrong
