She was 16 and dreamt of a perfect life with him. She loved him until he showed her his true colours and when it became too much she took her life. After going through that hell if you notice in subsequent lifetimes she tries her best not to make the same mistake of going back to him.

That’s the point I was making since comments here keep saying she didn’t choose him. She even admits she did love him in the early years of her marriage. She always chooses the men in her life herself. Nobody else makes the decision for her. That’s why she said in another manhwa chapter that she has terrible taste in men. Some even say she didn’t choose Carcel when there is a manhwa panel showing her pointing her finger at him. She later gloats to Maria in another ch that she chose Carcel so he’s her husband and not the other way around because she chose Carcel first. He didn’t choose her.
In manhwa episode 10, Inés talks about her choice of Oscar. Either readers are too busy watching the pictures or they only read one thing is the ch because Ines states that she loved Oscar and chose him herself. I suggest people re-read it before claiming Ines didn’t choose him.
