Doesn’t the flashback prove the opposite though? The flashback is showing for whatever reason he helped her here. And in season 1 she again wondered why carcel helped Emiliano escape. I don’t think you can use her trauma to excuse her treatment towards carcel when he never really did anything to her in previous lives, he only helped her.
A nuanced story such as this should be read as such. Trauma doesn’t absolve her of every wrong she has or will do. Rather than “can you blame her” as you stated, it’s better to say “can’t you understand her”. Because her actions are very understandable based on what she’s been through, but they’re still not right. I think that’s an important distinction to make.
In today's world that would be true, but here she is considered his property, they're not equal partners in this society. While she can divorce him for cheating (at least in certain circumstances), it's socially acceptable for him to do so, it's even expected. She on the other hand, has to appear loyal to him. Her mental health struggles are seen as a "defect" in a product, not the struggle of an individual. He could cast her aside for that and she would likely be shunned. If he wants to hit her, rape her, ignore her or just restrict her life, she has very limited options to act. He has power over her life, and even if he doesn't use it now, it's a very uncomfortable position for her to be in. We know he adores her and wants the best for her, but personally I would rather not be in her situation, regardless of how much love there is in the relationship.
Deceiving someone is wrong, but if that is the only path to freedom, why wouldn't she? It's not Cárcel's fault she's in this position, but can one really expect her to chose his feelings over her life and freedom. At this point she doesn't know the significance of his feelings, but even in that case, I wouldn't blame her for wanting out.
Knowing this, I still root for them and I can still feel bad for Cárcel, but I feel the same for Inés. While her position as a noble women gives her privilege, but also restricts her greatly, and the consequences of that has been devastating to her.
I hate when people say she is being very closed off with the ml and making him try and cheat but dude can you blame her? all the men in her life or at that everyone in her life treated her like property and emotionally/ physically abused her. The only one who never hurt her was the painter. She's been through pain in all the times she regressed.
