BUT I HAVE A THEORY, this might be miserably wrong, but what if hyo un has one sided love for the lord, ie he makes the orb, but lord does not accept it??? Hence, maybe they are cursed, no because whenever taehyuk (present one) comes near hyo un, hyou un gets terribly sick, maybe they aren't suppose to be together anymore, because lord did not want to be his mate in 1st life...

Um ya so brainstorming, I'm just too impatient, I feel like I should write so book now lol

Yes, I also theorized that the lord will not accept the orb. But Lord realized he love him but he knew it was wrong to just be with the person he took care of. I remember the painting in the 1st few chaps and Lord have not remembered his past life but deep in his heart twas making him attached to things in his past life(e.g. Hyo un , painting).
If I remember it correctly, Lord dont want to leave when Hyo un wanted to kick him out.

I also theorized that the reason they separated is because Lord was caught by the king(present bro). He killed himself and that is why Hyo un slept for very long(if I was not mistaken). And also, the reason Hyo Un was very weak because he had not finished the orb properly? Ghaddd. Sorry for this, so many theories on my mind so just wanted to get 1 out ( T﹏T )

I feel like the lord(past mc) wouldn't even be able to properly say or even develop his feelings for Hyoun cuz the king is gonna get in the way by taking the lord before Hyoun would be able to finish the orb, making it unfinished which leads us to the present where he's suffering cuz it is not finish and that he might be able to finish it with the help of our mc, cuz in that timeline he really does like him and wants Hyoun to like him for himself not as the lord, ya know what i mean ┑(￣Д ￣)┍
