no i also think so, in shoujo in most of them the girl is really submissive! and there is often a caricature of the girl or woman in the shoujo being weak even if she is strong, needing the guy when she doesn't... and even the guy is caricatured so it's hard to find the romance natural or genuine
and i noticed that i see a lot more emotions in yaoi (seme and uke), it's more natural even if there are a lot of yaoi far from the reality but the relationship between the main caracters is better imaged.
a good shoujo

I went through the same problem! Just hetero felt boring, and annoying in a way. I think it's because it's much more limited! With yaoi, anything can happen! You can watch the characters you love so much do "the deed", and have a connection that's not like hetero manga! With shoujo, you just cliches with more cliches, and it's hard to find something interesting! You can't watch them embrace each other, or else that would be full out porn, and if it's too sexual (Like sticking your tongue in another mouth), then it's deemed perverted. I know a lot of this sounds BAD, but trust me, it gets better! There's always those few gems that either stray away from cliches, or don't need sex to entertain you! Just keep searching, I know you can find something! (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
Honey i've started with shoujo, i've read a tons of shoujo that i don't have anything left to read so i assure and 100% agree with you, yaoi mangas potray more love and you can feel the love more than shoujo. The reason why i completely left shoujo mangas. I think the only shoujo manga i've really liked is "Good Ending (GE)", it's an ecchi manga but i liked the storyline because it's somehow different than the other shoujos. I've completely forgotten the other ones because their storylines are fucking the same (girl likes boy, love triangle, happy ending). I recommend yaoi/shounen-ai mangas more than shoujo. Im not hatin on shoujos it's just not my taste anymore.
So i was wandering, I have read quite a bit of yaoi manga and basically I have nothing left to read, so i turned too shoujo heterosexual manga, and is it just me or do yaoi manga portray love and realshionships in a better way ? Maybe I just dont know any good shoujo manga so please do help me out with this !
