right now i'm strugguling with a choice. i'm just sooooo unsure. i'm thinking about chainging my major at university. but i'm sooo unsure. i'm not sure if what i choose before is what i really like, and if i change major i'm not even sure i'll like the new one! i'm only in year one and the specializing stuff comes in the later years... ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍ The problem it's that the other course i like is in a different city so i'd have to travel reeeally far, also my family is kinda low on money so i can't move there.. ╥﹏╥ Also the two majors aren't so different and i probably can still go for the same or similar specialization after i graduate.. aghhh it's so difficult!(╯°Д °)╯╧╧

what do you study now?. i think you still have some time to think in the first year in the first semester but if you don' rlly like it you have sometime to change (▰˘◡˘▰)

engineering,i know it's kinda uncommon for girls ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ the first year luckly it's almost the same for every major in the field and now i'm struggling with the choice! since it's a difficult faculty i'm worried about living too far from the university Σ( ̄□ ̄||)

if you enjoyed studying the major you will be fine. emm you can always find place near uni? (▰˘◡˘▰). I am in my third year of social science but it is enjoyable .

right now i'm struggling to chose between automation and meachanical(my actual major), i've read that they can both give access to the final two years of specialization in automation (you know robot and stuff), but it's kinda hard!

Hellooo, im also an engineering student (manufacturing 2nd year). What im about to say is what my seniors told me when i was a freshman. Automative and mechanical are pretty much the same thing either way except that automotive have a narrower field of study while mechanical is pretty much everything in general. If youre struggling between the two its better to weigh the pros and cons first. My friends who are in automative have it tough, i hear them complaining about it all the time. Mechanical is also difficult but easier than automative. Usually the automative major have realllllly small amount of girls in the class so you might want to consider that (4:30 ratio in my uni). Also take into account the convenience (easy to commute, low living cost, etc). Also when it comes to job prospect, mechanical have a wider field to choose from. If youre doing good right now, i think its better for you to continue in that pace. If you change your major, you might not be able to keep up even if you have a lot of passion for it.

Sorry for the long comment. I hope it helps.

Yeah, sorry, I just read after you wrote the answer down. Anyway, what if you just gather experience of your major and then if you don't like it, you try the other one? I don't know how does it work tho, I'm just guessing. But robots sound good... You could make me one, haha. But seriously, don't rush it, think about it and then try to decide.

OH Gosh thanks a lot fellow engineering student! ヾ(☆▽☆)it helps me a lot! about the low amount of girls it's even worse in mechanical around here! we are like 2 or 3!!(〜 ̄△ ̄)〜 they think i'm some kind of mystical creature! In automotive there are loads more (at least in first year) its kinda weird! Same in aereospacial, loads more of girls! There is this wild misconception that mechanical is all about cars and bikes! Really thanks for the answer! ε=ε=(ノ≧∇≦)ノ
