We have to remember than Dan did willingly choose to enter this arrangement with jaekyung knowing full well how mean and rough he was. Although Jaekyung is definitely in the wrong for how he treats Dan(and literally everyone), it’s not like he’s making Dan do anything against his will.
Yes, but is Jaekyung the only potential rapist here? What could have made a "grown, adult man" so pliable to disregarding himself? Is he just a badly written character or might there be more than meets the eye?
I mean obviously Dan is traumatized from what happened to him at his old job so that definitely affects his situation with J, but he chose to enter the deal knowing what he was getting into, so there's no excuse for him. I mean we've seen that he is a traumatized and weak-minded man that is generous to a fault, and I think that he is a simple and badly written character. I hope that he gets better and realizes what he has done to himself but i doubt it.

Dan is living an unfortunate life and I would not expect perfect clarity of mind from him. For most of his life, Dan had to make decisions while disregarding himself. With Jaekyung, he found "safety", "home", and is now finding "love"... I believe everything has now been set up for a major change and I wonder what comes next. It's easy to envision more angst and misunderstandings, them going their separate ways only to yearn for each other, but I hope to be surprised with a totally unpredictable development...
