first off, there is no incest happening in this manga and there never will. they are two teenagers who have never met before and are now forced to share a house together just because their parents got together. Ranko only considers Kaya to be her brother because that is what she is told he is but she and Kaya never actually consider each other to be related at all. secondly, the term “onee-chan” (big sister) can also be referred to any girl who’s older than you in the Japanese language (i am a Japanese native so yes, i know what i’m talking about). lastly, as we all know, even if there is some step-sibling fetish innuendos in the manga, it’s normal in Japanese culture, including anime and manga. it’s also one of the most popular tropes in Westernized porn (mainly America) so if you’re weirded out by it, just know that this is normal for this culture. it’s okay to be uncomfortable, but it’s only uncomfortable if the characters do actually consider each other to be siblings, unlike Ranko and Kaya. stop complaining about things you don’t understand. thank you very much.
