Why did Layard marry Louise if she was a commoner? Did he actually love her in the past? If so, what made him fall out of love and pursue other women? Like why not just remain single if he wanted to just have short term relationships? And why not divorce if he doesn't love her anymore? Hopefully this get's explained, because so far I'm confused by why they need to still be married, or even why he married her in the first place.
Because they have “marriageable age” he had to get married to keep his honor but he still wanted to play around so he looked for a beautiful girl with weak background to fill that quite wife role. Our fl sadly have no other choice for survival than to stick with he shitty husband.
I read that he was on some kind of mission.. I don't know, because it seemed like it might be something like that, however, he still was cheating... and he has to go.. and regret... and stay gone... imo
