I’ve been reading this genre since high school and more and more I realize I truly should just give it up it was bad then but I could still pick around the toxicity and SA but now it simply dominates the entire genre and it’s honestly here to stay. At this point yaoi= rape for me and it’s rarer to find something that doesn’t romanticize or include SA within the first 5 chapters. I know it’s not exclusive to the genre but it’s simply bizarre how much the this genre as a whole loves rape and authors literally only write what sells to cater to their readers. It’s a direct correlation.
Exactly I've been reading bl about 7 years now and it's everywhere at this point it just seems for authors rape is either normalised or fetishised so it's put almost everywhere such a shame finding new ones without ANY rape or sa is hard especially when there's no warning
Rape already ffs was looking forward to this but I'm dropping such horrible shit can't wait for the day that authors learn to write without rape
