Okay i might just be tweaking but how come this manga has no black characters like at all or black heroes, like i looked at the list of heros and they each represent parts of the world. ANd so yall dont attack me or think I'm trying to cancel anyone here is the list of superheroes that have been showcased so far.
ANd deadass despite the very little diversity these characters skintones are boderline pale everyone have some form of white features. For an anime that involves the real world this is a bit disappointing. And they showcase a few stereotypes like why is the only russian girl always drunk. This is poor research on the Authors behalf lowkey.
ANd I truly believe this why so animes with plots that have amazing potential never make it main stream cuz think of my HERO, OP, Full metal Naruto Bleach. These settings are imaginary but some how have a more varied skin tone scheme
And I'm not gonna lie the plot is nice but im very observant when watching anime so i'm able to notice a few thing. And I will say there are a few designs that most definitely take from African American Culture.; Now I'm just african but as someone living in AMerica I noticed this. Let me Know what yall think. Intellectuals only not 4chan incels ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
And for those who want to come on some d riding bs I'm an artist, so i simply can understand how you can draw 50 characters who all borderline look like they share the same mom and dad. Like BFR an artist needs to not only have various antistyles but also various patterns and color scheme along with skin tones ┗( T﹏T )┛
I'll add my 2 cents to this. It's honestly just artist preference, plain and simple.
I'm a writer and the cast for my stories are predominantly, if not all, white. And my stories are based on this earth but AU. That's my personal preference, despite being a non-white person myself. Maybe that's because of the media I was exposed to as a youth.
As for the stereotypes, like with Pepesha, it's for comedic value.
