You know I would have agreed and wished for her father and brother to be mercilessly butchered, but not all fl are badasses and it’s ok. From her personality in past life, she was meek and just trying to survive, if she had to take revenge, the real revenge would be on her Korean family not the characters in the novel because she knew they were manipulated. Her real family was extra notch of trash and deserved hell.
I like that part especially tbh: her being forgiving because let's face it - after years of abuse (if you are not completely broken mentally) you would cling to the sence of peace even at the expence of your well-being. Revenge... badass... That is like eating your own flesh when you are starving - totally self-destructive. Edith goes for a healthier attitude: why keep a grudge against this brainwashed characters? Better leave this all in the dust
it was indeed frustrating but also like kinda good way too especially if you're an angsty freaker like me ;; w;; pain was good in this one.
one thing that didn't meet my satisfaction was Lize's ending lol she just had an unhappy marriage cuz she was so spoiled and became a huge problem to cliff and in-laws(good riddance) and was sent away somewhere? ugh.
So Edith is a big softie. She "technically" forgive 'everyone'. It was kind of frustrating reading cuz she suffered a lot and actually resigned to fate because of them. Killan was actually not bad, when he rembered how he treated Edith he retreats and feels guilty. And I don't think I actually read where anyone really apologise to her. And just forgive them cuz they were manipulated.
Somenthing about Edith that made frustrated is that she is too forgiving. If you are looking for badass FL then Edith is not the one. When people apologise to her she was like oh its okay its not like it couldn't be helped because they were manipulated by the author. Like the mental and physical abuse just didn't matter.
Bus overall it was a good read.
