its a very common bl trope. especially when a woman is introduced as a love rival. somehow, authors really love to weaponize female characters in bl. in this story however, the author did none of the sort. the readers are just bs and obvs care about nothing but the seggs

sometimes authors do it in purpose too but illustrate it in a way that makes it seem like they didnt. like having the girl blush at the guy then end the chapter in a cliffhanger then we find out shes just his cousin in the next chapter. its all about how they get the audience to engage honestly. whether its bad or good feedback, its still attention and it pays their bills
