And tbh I lowkey dislike the "protagonist", yes he's righteous and heroic and all and that makes him too kind to his comrades and allies, and maybe because of that he unintentionally makes a huge mistake because of his " heroic " deeds, this is just a theory but I think he may be the one who caused the end of the world himself because of the choices he made like unintentionally being involved in shield guy's death and that's the reason why MC from previous life became the villain and hated the "protagonist" and wanting to end the world as his best friend died because of that "protagonist"
Oh and if you think I'm spoiling by saying MC was the villain (masked man) in his previous life then sorryyy dummy, it's so obvious he is the masked man, his fingernails in some of the flash blacks were black the same as the masked man and if you read and look through the chapters carefully, it's obvious he is the masked man
The "protagonist" was also kinda of selfish making MC doing a lot of work while pretending to be ignorant and oblivious about it and he's really biased as he chose the guild he's in right now only because of the fact he was in it in his previous and not caring/doing anything about the fact that they mistreated MC really badly when they were first in the guild and even after everything MC has done he's still suspicious of MC and even at the last chapter of season 2 he was like "I knew he was wearing a fake mask" I mean yeah MC is kinda manipulative and all but that pisses me off as MC actually did help a lot in improving and benefitting the guild and the "protagonist" although it was for himself, it still is true that he helped a lot and "protagonist" still doubts him, god I actually really dislike him, anyway at least that's what I remembered it being, it's been a while since I continued reading this tbh so I might be wrong on something
I haven't read past the first dozen chapters or so. The story writing is weak and the MC feels like a try-hard mishmash of all the mad scientist type characters that the author has ever read. I am not planning on continuing. I was just going through the comments to see if anything improves but doesn't seem like it. This is going to another of the "whole world for the MC, by the MC, of the MC" stories that have infested the artform recently.
I was reading through this thread and it's amazing to me how all three of you seem blissfully oblivious of the hypocrisy dripping from your comments. This is why it takes a really seasoned, trained hand at the business to write a villain protagonist. When an inexperienced author tries their hand at it, they just end up trying to convince you to accept an obvious villain as just a misunderstood hero. I, for one, am not as accomplished at suspension of disbelief and taking the author at face value as you guys are. This story is definitely not for me.
He's slowly changing although little becoming an actual better person considering he actually really cares for the big shield guy, I think the reason why he was even evil in the previous life was his best friend (shield guy) died because of possibly the "protagonist" being involved in an indirect way, maybe that's why he became the way he is during the 1st life, he wasn't evil because of shield guy and that's so sad yet sweet and so he began seeking revenge on everything and became cold, heartless and ruthless to everyone after shield guy's death, as he lost his beloved best friend
