actually a good read

i guess this has a low rating because of the age gap and the sexual assault? it makes sense but i think those two points are a major part of this story and changing them would transform the story this wanted to tell altogether. it actually shows how much of a kid usui still was despite being told he was too mature for his age. also how devoted he was to changing and that change can be seen throughout the years until he became 20.

the sexual assault did leave a bad taste to my mouth but he acknowledged that it was wrong and that moment where he broke down listing all his faults felt very raw.

really just wondering how usui became this way - very detached to human emotions at first. the pacing is alright but it would've been better to give it a bit more length to make some readers digest his thoughts and growth better. but imo it told the message well within 7 chapters.

i have read manhwas where the seme constantly assaults the uke but it gets higher rating. i guess the reception is different because those are longer? also works that show character development goes up to 9+ so im quite sad this is barely 8+. it's a beautiful story. regarding the age gap as well, it wasn't told in a predatory way at all. i actually like how they kept bringing it up and not brush that off unlike in some other mangas.
