Neither of them remembers their pasts tf are you oooooooooooonn lol
The reason for the flashback arc is 'cause neither of them remember anything. We woulda spent 50+ chapters of fragmented memories which-- time-wise-- wouldn't seem reasonable seeing as current Hyo-Un is on his deathbed with something unidentifiable killing him.
The key to curing him and furthering their relationship in the present time lies in their pasts. It's just easier to put a pause on the present so we could do a flashback sequence that would explain everything in one go.
its a critical point of view dipshit, if ur gonna cry about “oh b-but the past is SO important i-it—“ mf I KNOW how important the past it and im curious abt what happened in the past im just saying in a CRITICAL point of view, in a view of someone who’s CRITICIZING a story, its fucking shit to spoonfeed readers information about the past by showing long ass flashbacks.
like?? “but the curing is the past” no shit. its just best to let the CHARACTERS find out about the past by having fragments of their memories given to them, let the characters PIECE THEM TOGETHER, its lazy af writing to dump memories to a character by getting a 3 worth chapter of flashbacks
letting the characters piece together about what happened in the past through fragments of memory brings SO MUCH potential in giving the characters some DEVELOPMENT, letting them figure out their past through clues can also help the characters build more chemistry with each other through COMMUNICATION.
lmao ya’ll are so focused on the porn in every BL manga that ya’ll forget the importance of communication, by helping each other out, trying to understand each other, talking about feelings, past, thoughts and etc.
like sorry i prefer the two MLs to build their relationship by communicating and figuring out their past together to build a stronger bond
the flashback is way too long, would’ve been far more exciting to find out what happened in their past life by showing the readers fragments of their memories and letting them piece together information but instead the readers got spoonfed and info-dumped
