X will accompany MC to a zombie amusement park in the next world. They have to clear 3 attractions. One attraction is virtual reality. They both lose their memories of their reality. As far as MC is concerned, the transmigrations never happened. He's an ordinary college student and X is his professor. X, as always, is very attracted to MC. They develop a romantic relationship. X had experience with virtual realities, but the dream was so sweet that he couldn't bear to end it. They fail the attraction because they both fail to break the illusion. They wake up with the memories of spending their lives loving each other. Those memories made it impossible for MC to continue hating X the way he had before. It felt like a cop-out. I'd been looking forward to how hard X would have to work to turn his little rose's minus points into plus. MC rendered unable to stay mad at X despite being forced to deal with X's unreasonable worlds felt wrong. I hated it.

I understand why people think the way they got together was a cop-out / unsatisfying but I would like to add (spoilers!!) that the illusion they fall into is a repeat of MC's original life. In his original life he was falsely accused of cheating in university because of someone he thought was his friend. He had to drop out and never really trusted anyone after that, which is mostly the reason why he joined the game in the first place - he had no attachment to his own life. The illusion allowed him a second chance and because of X his name was cleared and he continued at university. I found, rather than a jarring 'Oh, I guess MC loves X now because of plot' the MC was shown an alternate reality where someone saved him at the lowest point in his life and gave him a lifetime of happiness. I actually thought it was very romantic as it's clear that had X been with MC in his original life, MC would never have ended up in the game because he would have wanted to live (which is why they both failed the task, as they chose the illusion over real life). This is just my own opinion, but please give the novel a chance! <3
