Either author stinks at sex scenes, or decided to exploit the old cliché of power play "rapey" scenes cause it sells. Since the gangbang and foreign god bang I decided to no longer gonna pay much attention to the sex scenes. Cheers for Seth saying "kiss doesn't mean sex" though. Ironic how, despite what followed, this hothead, temperamental guy still learned to express SOME of the important things he desperately needed to say, clearly and assertively (he'd been a temperamental hothead since BEFORE the mess with Osiris, so Im not unfairly bathmouthing him)
Horus wasn’t sure if his feelings but it’s pretty clear he thinks of Set as more than a father figure. When he received that love from someone (Set) as a kid, he def looked up to Set. I honestly don’t think Horus is like all of them, the sexual assault I agree he committed, but I don’t really care as much since the author loves making Set just ignore it as you can see in the chapter where their focus just shifted randomly. And Set thinking about Horus looking serious than ever when Horus was assaulting him, rather than thinking about how scary it feels to be assaulted and that look of fear. I really believe the author downplays the actual reality of what victims of assault go through.
In this story, everyone’s somewhat a victim and a villain. It’s not black and white at all, it’s more complex. Horus is a victim of Set’s sexual assault (attempted rape in earlier chapters), now Horus sexually assaulted Set. The chapter 75 or somewhere there is non-canon and the rape Horus did in chapter 30 something is not out of will, so it’s complicated to pinpoint it all on him as the bad guy.
The author, in my opinion, kinda went down in terms of quality writing. I really wish they didn’t put Horus assaulting Set, I wish it was more of: “Hey can I touch you? Are you okay with that?”. I kinda expected that from Horus considering how pathetic he looked in front of Set, but once he took that mask off, motherfucker is all smiles and not shy?? Or maybe I forgot he’s been like this all the time but yeah.
Also let’s not forget they’re literal gods, their morals are way different from ours and their relations. Perhaps that’s why Set doesn’t really seem to focus on the sexual assault Horus just committed and the sexual assault he did to Horus before. But somehow he fears Osiris (as he should, just doesn’t make sense he fears that but not the sexual assault with Horus).
I think many people here are upset that the supposed endgame dude horus who was supposed to be different from the rest, turned out to be just like them in terms of disregarding seth's consent and SAing him. Now how am 8 supposed to think hes anything better than his dad? How am I supposed to root for him? And to be honest with you, I think him and seth don't have any chemistry at all. It's just horus being a desperate horndog whenever seth is involved. I get this is slowburn and all but I think this story would've been better off throwing away the supposed "romance" cuz I dont think anyone cares for it anymore. Also the whole thing with anubis becoming a love interest for his own DAD is fucked up and I dont like it at all. Ik they're gods but like others said in mythology they dont shove it up yourself constantly that these gods are related but in this manhwa we had like 100+ of seth and anubis being father and son and how much they loved each other and wanted to get back to what they were and now anubis is trying to hump his dad like bffr. We're not in a mythology and this is the modern world so don't expect us to have nonmodern morals and we already have horus, fg and osiris as horndog for seth, Was there a need to anubis to be added it there?
Also we havent seen much of the other gods and goddesses, no mat and thoth (my fav couple here with the healthiest relationship) no ra, no sekhmet, hell even isis got side tracked (ik shes in a coma but I feel like it's time to get her side of the story moving).
The story has become stagnant in a terrible attempt to develop the romance between horus and seth which is just not working and they're not suited to each other.
Lastly I feel like horus has mommy and daddy issues and he just wants seth to be a dad to him like he was to anubis (pretty sure he said he wanted to be his son before too) and hes mistaking those feelings for romantic or he just likes fucking his adoptive dad idk
Anyways, thank u for coming to my Ted talk
