Not really tho. People don't HAVE to marry anyone. I know a friend's family member who never married anyone and was completely happy.
My uncle doesn't have married anyone. He's 40, he has no wife, no girlfriend that we have heard of for quite some times, no kids, and I don't think he could be more happy. And my great-uncle (the brother of my grand-father) isn't married either and does'nt have children either and he is 70, and he is definitly happy with his girlfriend that he met in China while he was travelling around the world.
Sure, we're in western country, but I'm sure there is a lot of un-married people in Japan as well.. !!
