From the other side (although not involving abuse), my mother had depression for the better part of a year after my jerk stepdad cheated on her and left, when I was young. I basically looked after myself and my little sister the whole time and didn't tell anyone. Many people would probably call her a crap mother, but she was sick, and it's lucky she managed to get help for herself in the end because I was really too young to know how to help the situation. A parent with mental illness (especially a single parent) is scary and hard even when it's not abusive, so I see Jinha's situation as very scary and hard and tragic. His mother's feelings (and mental illness) seem to have crystallised around a lot of anger and control issues, rather than sadness (hence violence, and almost imprisonment).

You went through something more harder than me and I want to say that you are a strong person bcs you are able to look after yourself and your sister, your mom must be proud of you. My dad was very abusive and he's often drunk so I feel very lucky that he divorced with my mom so we don't need to deal with his abusive ass anymore, and yeah Jinha's situation is very scary and I think he's really strong bcs he managed to get through all that.

This chapter is so fucking sad. If my child like to draw and want to be a comic artist I would fucking support them and become their trash #1. And literally Jinha's mom is crazy, my mom and my dad divorced bcs that jerk cheated on my mom and both my bro and I resembled him and my mom never complained at all, sometimes she would just joke like "you both look like your father, so ugly." But she never hit us. She loves us a lot. And I think Jinha is adopted by some rich parents that's why his name changed from Jun to Jinha. Idk.
AND GUYS DESPITE ALL THE TRAGIC DADDY AND MOMMY ISSUES CAN YOU GUYS ACTUALLY BELIEVE THAT SIWON USED TO BE TALLER THAN JINHA? THAT'S CUTE.
