It's an east Asian thing, they think freckles makes you ugly. But personally, I think ppl with freckles are cute
Righttt I see a lot of makeup tutorials where they put fake freckles and it's so beautiful.
I think this story is kinda nice and I somehow get what the author is trying to portray. The author creates a world background where being beautiful or unblemished is the majority and the mindset of that era. And being ugly( I try hard to find the logic just why the heck having freckles is considered ugly) is the minority.
