unfortunately yes, there are some cases like that i dont remember who i think it's taeyeon and kai from exo, when they announced that they were dating. kai's fans would threw her lots of negative comments in her social medias. it is sad though, because idols are human too and they are allowed to date whoever they want. and even if theyre staying at the same apartment like you said, they would be paparazzi, sasaengs who would eventually caught them.
It wasn't Kai who Taeyeon was dating from Exo it was Baekhyun. Kai dated Krystal from f(x) around that time though and she did get the same amount of hatred though. Jennie also got the same treatment when Kai and her were dating.

Bruh I'm confused af. With this story AND the netflix story. Is it true in Korean kpop or idols will get death threats and boycotted by fans if they are found out dating? And dating a non celebrity makes it 10 times worse? If it's true, I understand why he broke up with her but at the same time I don't. If they get a place in the same apartment, no one would know they're dating cause they wouldn't be able to follow them inside.
