I ain't dumb but you are dumb for asking me this question even after reading this manhwa for sure. I'm not going to waste my time in writing down why he is a dumb ass character however someone down there explained it on point so I will quote them instead.


While I completely understand and sympathize with what Jiwook has been through... he's partially responsible and to be blamed for his circumstances. He's the epitome of a self-sabotaging self-destructive person! I feel like he looks for problems even if there isn't any. constantly led by his insecurities, but kept blaming Seongeon because it's always easier to point fingers at someone else. Had feelings for him but wouldn't admit it and acted like he hated him instead. playing a constant push and pull game, never able to make up his mind. Always acts and says the opposite of what he feels. I absolutely do not condone some of Seongeon's actions, violence, or his approach half the time.. but I feel like Jiwook's behavior from the very beginning is what caused the start of their never-ending issues and toxic relationship. He's never been honest! so I'm glad that they finally went their seperate ways... but now he needs protecting ughh

now blondie is a full-fledged psychopath, and Jiwook is just ignoring all the red flags with no sense of danger whatsoever meanwhile Seongeon could simply be breathing and minding his own business but he'd be ready to jump his throat any chance he gets

I too think min jiwook harbours unnecessary hate for Joo Seungeon (or inferiority complex?).
Joo Seungeon can take all his bullshit. He's like his emotional trashcan , and he's aware of that too. Why don't we see him lashing out at his roommate? Why don't we see him lashing out at that Psycho dentist when he clearly invaded his personal space? If it was Seungeon he would have already slapped him.
He started his hunger strike because he knows seme will relent.

Min jiwook got so many chances. I can point 3 out .
First during high school days when he came to know about his father's debts. Seungeon offered his help. He could have taken his help , then slowly repaid it .

Second , when Seungeon abducted him . At this point he already got raped n number of times , when he worked at that Suburban factory for a whole month . Reason pay was good . Couldn't he would have worked at City with a decent pay ? Its not like his situation improved after working at that Shady factory.
Seungeon asked him to go to foreign together to study. He rejected him. He could have gone , studied , then paid his Debt. Point is Joo already cleared his Debt at that point.

Third, this time he himself was forced to come on his own two feets to Seungeon. Things were getting better but brother flipped after seeing Seme's engagement broadcast.
This time Seungeon was wrong to hide it but later he did say to leave everything and come with him. Dude went on hunger strike. For what? For Seungeon's future ofcourse.
Didn't bother to ask him whether he wants this GOOD FUTURE or not.

Min jiwook is victim I'm not denying that , I'll never deny that. He suffered a lot , he's entitled to get his happy healthy ending.

People often forget that when they flip a coin there's only one side they could see not the hidden one . But that doesn't mean hidden side ain't there. It has its own existence although worthless, Living in shadow still present.
