A story can have multiple interpretations depending on the person who's reading it. There are people who percieve the "Kim dokja will be killed by the one who he loves most" in a platonic almost soul mate bond type of a way while another can percieve it in a romantic manner. Maybe one works for you while the other doesn't, however we have no proof that the other can't be correct

Also shippers are mostly like that. Orv doesn't have romance for the most part, except of some instances with Jung Heewon, but other than that it's focused on the plot.
But still there are several ships right? So what I do is that if the ship isn't illegal or immoral, IDC. If they're consenting adults i don't mind since to each their own. One can't really own a piece of literature right?

Well it's more in a platonic way rather than in a romantic way, however the lines are a bit blurry because romance is percieved differently by different people

What you consider romance may be something I consider normal as friends. Which is why there is a lot of debate on whether there was some romantic attraction between them or whether it was purely platonic or not.

Now this is just my take though

Like to me they aren't really bound by the mere constraints of "romance". Their bond is something much deeper, much more pure and something that's really raw. Like their bond feels so out of our imagination.
They're tied together by fate itself however it is but fate who keeps on separating them.
